Services
My services include:
- An initial appointment to make sure that I would be a good match for your needs.
- At least one consultation (more if there is time before your due date) in which we can become better acquainted and discuss any priorities or concerns you may have about the birth. During this time, I can also help you develop a Birth Plan specific to your wants and needs.
- Continuous emotional and physical support during labor (this may include anything from back massages to coaching you through deep breathing to providing emotional support and some extra knowledge about labor and birth).
- Use of my TENS unit during labor. I am certified to use TENS by DONA International (for more information on use of TENS units during labor see “What is a TENS unit” on this website).
- Support for 1-2 hours after birth to make sure that you are comfortable and have everything you need.
- One appointment after the birth to make sure that everything is going well with the new baby and to talk through how the birth went.
Price: $425*
*Because I believe that doulas truly make for better births, I would like to make it possible for every woman to have the opportunity to have a doula present at her birth. If money is an issue, we can work something out.
Note: My services do not include any medical or clinical tasks such as vaginal exams or measuring blood pressure or fetal heart rates. I am there to provide only physical comfort, emotional support and advocacy. I will, however, help you get any information you may need to make informed decisions.
